FAQ
Where are your pieces made?
All garments are produced in our Nashville studio by Tessa and a very small team. We work primarily with rare, salvaged upholstery and drapery textiles sourced in limited quantities. When a fabric is gone, it is typically gone for good. Each piece is cut and sewn in small runs, with an emphasis on structure, finish, and longevity.
What is your production timeline?
Ready to Wear: 1–3 days
Made to Order: 2–6 weeks
Lead times vary depending on order volume and season. If you need something for a specific date, we recommend reaching out prior to purchase. We'll do our best to accommodate. A rush fee may apply.
What is made-to-order?
Made-to-order means your garment is created specifically for you after purchase — it is not pulled from stock. Because we produce in small runs using limited textiles, we begin cutting shortly after orders are placed. While each piece is constructed with care, garments are not custom-tailored unless explicitly noted.
Do you offer custom?
Yes! For a fully made-to-measure piece designed one-on-one with Tessa, please complete our custom form to begin the process.
What is your return policy?
The following categories are final sale:
- Made-to-order
- Custom pieces
- Samples
- Rush orders
- International orders
- Sale items
Eligible Ready-to-Wear pieces may be returned within 14 days of delivery. Items must be unworn, unaltered, and returned with original tags and packaging. A 20% restocking fee applies. Refunds are issued within 3–5 business days of approval.
To initiate a return, email orders@tessafay.com with your order number and request details.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes! Please note that duties, taxes, and import fees are the responsibility of the recipient. Delivery timelines vary by destination. Refused or returned-to-sender packages are subject to reshipping fees.
All international orders are final sale.
Do you restock sold-out styles?
Due to the limited nature of our textiles, restocks are rare. When a fabric is gone, it is usually gone for good. Archived or discontinued styles may be available for custom order in similar or different fabric of your choosing — start with our custom form.
Are fabric variations normal?
Sometimes. We work with vintage and salvaged textiles that may carry subtle variations or minor signs of prior life. These nuances are considered part of the garment's character — we see them as part of the story.
How should I care for my garment?
Since most TF garments are made from salvaged fabrics, fiber content is often not provided. Dry clean only is recommended unless otherwise specified in the individual product description.
